Barn Owl at Last Light
From £32.00
A barn owl lifts off a fence post into a sky gone entirely gold, wings caught mid-beat and lit through from behind. Barn owls hunt most actively at dusk, and this is about as close to that golden hour as it gets.

The barn owl's heart-shaped facial disc works like a satellite dish, funnelling the faintest rustle of a vole in grass straight to ears set at slightly different heights, letting it pinpoint prey in total darkness by sound alone. Almost pure white underneath, it hunts low over rough field margins and verges at dusk, and a run of hard winters or wet summers can hit its numbers hard.
