Millennium Bridge to the Baltic
From £32.00
The Millennium Bridge's rail leads the eye straight across the Tyne to the old Baltic Flour Mill, now the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, lit up for the night. A companion piece to the Tyne Bridge shot, same stretch of river, a different angle on it.

The Gateshead Millennium Bridge, a tilting pedestrian bridge opened in 2001, rotates on its own axis to let river traffic pass, earning it the nickname "the blinking eye". Facing it across the Tyne, the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art occupies a converted 1950s flour mill, repurposed as one of the UK's largest contemporary art spaces.
